This can free up a lot of HP and lower your KR level. The factory downpipe on 1997 to 2003 3800 Pontiac Grand Prix, Buick Regal, Chevy Impala, Chevy Monte Carlo, etc all have a U bend in the factory downpipe where the o2 sensor goes. This is a horrible design. Go take a look at it. It takes 2.5" piping and then squishes it down to about an inch. This Ubend delete allows you to cut off the back of your downpipe so you can slide this one and weld it in to eliminate this horsepower robbing restriction. This is a budget way of doing it if you want to keep your stock downpipe. Of course the better solution is to get a new downpipe, but this is for the budget minded who want to retain their factory downpipe. GM has the kinked section of the down pipe to protect the O2 sensor but it is the most restrictive section of the entire exhaust. By mounting the O2 sideways and using a larger pipe the ZZP UBend Delete improves exhaust flow.
