Description: This is a rare autographed January 4th, 1976 OPENING NIGHT playbill from the Original Broadway production of the MITCH LEIGH and ALBERT MARRE musical flop "HOME SWEET HOMER" at the Palace Theatre in New York City. (The production began a year-long tour as "ODYSSEY", starting in Washington, D.C. in December 1974 and after being retitled "HOME SWEET HOMER" opened January 4th, 1976 at New York's Palace Theatre and closed the same night after only one performance.) ..... Loosely based on the Homeric legend, the musical starred YUL BRYNNER in his first Broadway musical since "The King and I", twenty-three years earlier and JOAN DIENER and featured RUSS THACKER, DIANA DAVILA, MARTIN VIDNOVIC (who signed the title page), SHEV RODGERS, P. J. MANN, IAN SULLIVAN and DAREL GLASER ..... Side Note: Beset by litigation from both cast members and several members of the creative team, author ERICH SEGAL ("Love Story", "The Yellow Submarine") left the production on the road and successfully sued to have his name removed from the credits .....
