California Prop 65 Warning: This is a Japanese Gunto Katana forged and signed Kinmichi. Real name Hibino Ichiji. Kinmichi was a seki swordsmith and registered as such in 1942 (showa 17). Kinmichi blamed himself for the defeat of Japan and commited harakiri August 6th, Showa 20. The blade is in great condition with a tired wartime polish. Tsuka is slightly loose. Small dent in saya towards the bottom. This particular sword has a button release mechanism that is fully functional.
