The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Johann Auer Johann was a Private and is pictured in a real (glued on) photo in his RAD service tunic and cap. He fell in Italy on January 9, 1945 at the age of 20. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
