The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Hans Trummet Hans was a Corporal in a Panzer Engineer Battalion and was awarded the War Merit Cross 2nd Cross with Swords. He fell in the East on December 14, 1943 at the age of 26. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
