THE BRONZE PLAQUE READS "IN 1859 THE MAIL WAS CARRIED FROM SAN PEDRO TO LOS ANGELES, A DISTANCE OF 27 MILES, IN 51 MINUTES". IMPRESSED ON THE BACK PART OF THE SCULPTURE (IN THE ROCKS) IS DOLAS '83 AND WELLS FARGO & CO 1983. THE WOOD BASE MEASURES 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 1" HIGH. THE SCULPTURE ITSELF IS ABOUT 5” LONG x 83” WIDE x 3" HIGH. Small chip on right side of base and glue residue where small name plate was affixed to front of base. This beautiful piece is a must-have for any art lover, collector, or history buff. The front and back depict the rugged cactus terrain of old California.
