VTG UNIVERSAL CAMBRIDGE OVEN PROOF 'CALICO FRUIT' 5 1/8" STORAGE/FRIG BOWL USA

Description: Condition ~ Excellent ~ no chips, cracks, stains, repairs; minor crazing inside; few scrapes on the underside where it sits ~ barely a speck of color on pattern flecked off ~ I am quite sure it has barely had any use ~ This is a 1940's Vintage Universal Cambridge National Brotherhood of Operative Potters Union of Cambridge, Ohio, Oven Proof Storage/Refrigerator/Grease Bowl/Jar in the "Calico Fruit" pattern on an ivory body, originally made for Sears Roebuck in the 1940's but the pattern actually went back to 1934. It originally had a lid and has the red band at the top of the bowl. It stands 3 & 5/8" in height, holds 3 cups to the very top, and was advertised as being oven proof & cold proof.
