Description: This a 6 3/4" doll' of a girl's folk costume from the city of Leksand in the province of Dalarna. Her apron is an authentic pattern from this town. This sort of costume is from the 18th to 19th centuries.These dolls are made with a wire frame, around which a foam material is wrapped for stuffing. The many details, as a walking stick, violins and bows, wooden shoes and the sewn cloth parts are all hand made. This is an older doll, and there is some light yellowing on the sleeves, but clean and without flaws. This artist was very popular internationally from the 1950's to about the 1990's, but the dolls are still being sought after by numerous collectors.
