Description: Vintage Penn Jigmaster 500S. Gear ratio 4:1 Line Capacity: 300yds/30lb mono. Bronze gears. Counter balanced handle. The model S introduced the "take apart thumbscrew" found on the non-handle side. This gives the angler quick access to the spool and gears. This reel is in great shape.Cleaned and serviced 1/10/24. Lubed with Penn Reel Grease, Lucas Reel Oil and Cal's Tan drag grease. The Jigmaster is a fantastic reel for yo-yo jigging iron with the higher gearing. The standard 500 started production in 1958 and is still produced today. The model S began life in the late 70's and went out of production in the late 80's. Just add line and you are ready to fish.
