Description: Here is a lovely pair of Hitchcock dining/side chairs that were probably manufactured somewhere in the 1950s/60s time frame. The Hitchcock Chair Co. dates back to the 1820s and has a solid reputation for high quality merchandise that is both hand turned and hand assembled. The original chairs were created with hardwoods that had stencils and traditional paint colors. The furniture has both a touch of Sheraton and Empire features as well as a very American Colonial feel. I've been to their store in Riverton, CT many times and if you're not familiar with them you should take the time to read about their fascinating history. These chairs have a few issues as mentioned above but if you're going to use them for decorative pieces primarily, they still have a wonderful look and are quite graceful in their design. They are truly a fine example of American furniture history. I will list them as local pickup only but will be more than happy to facilitate shipping through someone like uShip. Also I have another listing for a single Hitchcock dining chair if you're interested. Thanks for looking.
