Description: The Fostoria Company began their century old tradition of making beautiful and affordable glassware in West Virginia in December of 1887. It was named after the original town where it originated due to an abundant and promising gas well there. It later moved to another west Virginian town. The company peaked in 1950 while they were making over 8 million pieces of glass during that year. But, like many American companies, they eventually folded to foreign competition. The Heritage pattern is a very fine example of how beautiful and elegant Fostoria's glassware truly was. The photos simply do not do them enough justice. They are thick and feel heavy. They sound lovely when clanked. These pieces hold light with their rib pattern and feel so sturdy, they could pass for crystal. This set of 8 Water glasses have longer stems than the iced tea glasses. But they still each measure 7 1/8 inches high. They have a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. There are no chips or cracks on any of them. Much care will be used to package them to be sure that they will be received by you the way that they left me.
