Description: A lovely depiction of a cow and her young calf, produced in cold cast resin bronze and made in England. Research has not determined which company made this specific figurine, and all labels that would have indicated that have been removed from the base. The main manufacturers of cold cast bronze figurines in England were Heredities Ltd., Minerva Fine Arts and Menton Manor. It could have been produced by any of them, and to my knowledge, none of these companies are still in business. The piece is artist signed by S. Sutton and is numbered, appearing to be E/1500 (see closeup photo). The figurine is quite charming as the cow looks at her young one. Wonderful detail as one would expect from this medium. It measures 4 1/2" tall by 6" long by 4" deep. A great piece for the dairy cow or beef cow fancier and collector.Cold cast bronze is a term used to describe a resin piece with a high percentage of bronze added to give the look of an actual lost wax bronze but without the cost. The medium usually delivers outstanding detail and realism. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description.
