Description: For sale is this vintage academic hood, which probably dates from the 1950s. The white velvet edging of the academic hood indicates a Master of Arts degree. The maize lining with azure blue chevron is the heraldic pattern assigned to academic hoods from the University of Michigan. The same hood can be seen here: http://intercollegiate-registry.org/university-of-michigan/ This is a very good quality hood from Cotrell & Leonard, which went out of business in 1980. The hood is in very good condition, exhibiting only minor soiling. Please note that the gown and mortarboard in the photo are for illustrative purposes only, and are not included in this auction.
