I did not have a large solitaire to show it with, so I looked through my current inventory and paired it in the photos with a vintage diamond ring with side stones, to give you an idea of what it looks like with another ring. ENGAGEMENT RING IN PHOTOS IS JUST FOR DISPLAY AND NOT INCLUDED. This enhancer ring is set with 14 diamonds about .03 - .04 ct each, at the top and bottom, which total approximately 1/2 ctw. They are set in white gold to maximize their brilliance. These are NICE diamonds, not cloudy or dark--bright and fiery. We no longer grade color or clarity since the picky authentication process can vary, but these are nice diamonds. The insert is sturdy with two areas of support, as you can see in the photos. It would fit a 1.00 ct diamond easily, or maybe a little more, or even a ring like the ones in my photos with a little extra around the head. The opening is about 7 mm at the front. The face measures 3/4" top to bottom. It tests positive for 14k gold and has hefty weight at 7.1 grams. The ring is currently a size 10. This wrap could be sized, but sizing will be costlier because of the double construction of the ring. It is in very good vintage condition.
