Description: DATING TO THE LATE 1890’S FASHIONED OF A BLACK AND WHITE CHECK FINE COTTON WITH A POLISHED FINISH AND IS TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION. THE TOP IS IN A CROSS OVER STYLE FRONT EDGED IN FLORAL EMBROIDERED NET LACE ALONG THE CLOSURE WITH GATHERING AT THE CENTER FRONT AND REAR. THE SLEEVES HAVE A LARGE PUFF FULLNESS AT THE SHOULDER WITH A PLEATED BOTTOM CUFF TRIMMED IN MATCHING LACE. THE BOTTOM IS EDGED IN SILK BINDING AND INTERIOR IS UNLINED. THE SKIRT HAS MASSIVE VOLUME WITH PLEATS RUNNING AROUND THE BOTTOM AND A SINGLE PLEAT HIGHER UP. CONDITION: THERE IS A PERIOD STITCHED MEND ON THE HIGH RIGHT SHOULDER WITH A SIMILAR MEND ON THE SKIRT. SEVERAL SNAPS OR HOOKS ARE NEEDED FOR THE CLOSURE.
