Description: An original antique Real Photo Postcard photo by Lee Moorhouse of a Native American. The man is likely Umatilla and the image dates to around 1910. The Native American is holding what appears to be a woven medicine bag and wearing a headdress. On the back is a colorful typed letter from Moorhouse. The photo has an embossed "Lee Moorhouse / Pendleton OR" stamp with a nice facsimile signature. Major Lee Moorhouse was an Indian Agent for the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Oregon and a photographer who documented Native American life in the Columbia Basin. He created one of the preeminent social history collections of Oregon and many of his photos are held by museums. The image is about 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". It is in good condition as shown with some soiling and typical edge wear. The postmark impression is visible from the photo side. Displays really well. A wonderful, museum quality piece of history and an awesome addition to any collection. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed the way it deserves to be. I always combine shipping and will refund back any overage when you buy multiple items. Please see my store for more museum quality artifacts.
