Other turtle picks on the market are being described as "scratchy" or "rough" even after polishing, and you can see in their photos their poor quality. As you can see the turtle shell color and opaqueness vary, you'll occasionally you'll see some with a variation of colors such as white, tan, and dark brown. Hmm, how to describe the tone you get from my turtle picks... smooth, like butta'. If you haven't tried picks other than the basic plastic/celluloid you don't know what you've been missing. How do they sound? The first few strums and plucks, wow, tonally it gives you a softer smoother tone, by that I mean you don't get that celluloid snap/click noise, it just glides so nicely, I just didn't want to put it down! How they are made...these picks are hand-shaped, and polished to a super smooth finish. These aren't tortoise shell, these are red slider turtle, but the finish make these are close to them in terms of playability. SIZE, FEATURES, MEASUREMENTS#22 The raindrop shape with a thumbprint and groove that improves grip, and overall comfort while playing. The pick measures a thickness of 3.6mm which chamfers down to 1.6mm at the playing tip. #25 is a sharp 351 shape, a smaller version of the PP22, and offers the same thumbprint and groove that improves grip, and overall comfort while playing. The pick measures 31mm, middle width 25mm & thickness 3.6mm which chamfersdown to 2.2mm at the playing tip. #26 is a Tri-tip pick with an equilateral length & width is 31mm, the thickness is 3.2mm which chamfers down to 2.1mm at the playing tip. #27 is a Fat 351 shape, that is smooth on both sides with a length are 31mm, middle width of 25mm & thickness of 5mm which chamfers down to 2.2mm at the playing tip. #32 is a Jazz XL shape that features a sharp Y-shaped tip that specifically helps to improve tone and a flattened base helps to improve grip.
