Description: Book is copyright dated 1917 but I'm not sure when it was printed, it has a hand written note inside the front cover dated 1939, and it also has a publishers note on the title page stating it was produced in compliance with wartime conditions (however it doesn't mention which war, and while the 1939 dated note does sort of throw me, I'm inclined to think this edition was printed under America's WWII paper restrictions, the appearance of the type and illustrations appear to line-up with that time period. Vintage book in extremely worn condition. Cover spine edge is nearly missing, hand-written note inside front cover, text is quite age-toned, pages are somewhat fragile. No loose or missing pages.
