The earliest printing bears a date of 1876 on the bottom of the title page, with this copy having 1877.-Condition and Description: Publisher's blue cloth pictorially stamped in black and gilt, ~9" x 7.25", 275 pp, ads bound in rear. Hinges and binding tight. Tips pushed. Spine darkened. Rebacked, preserving the original spine cloth, with restoration at the head and tail of the spine, the hinges, and the edges of the boards (see closeups in the last pictures). Small faint dampstain to the upper right margin of the pages (not affecting the text), starting at the second flyleaf and extending throughout the length of the text. Notable staining on page 80 and 81, as pictured. An unfolded dog ear on page 151. Otherwise, an occasional imperfection to the pages, with examples depicted.
