Description: Talking Heads were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1975. The band was composed of David Byrne (lead vocals, guitar), Chris Frantz (drums), Tina Weymouth (bass) and Jerry Harrison (keyboards, guitar). Described as "one of the most critically acclaimed groups of the '80s," Talking Heads helped to pioneer new wave music by combining elements of punk, art rock, funk, and world music with "an anxious yet clean-cut image"; they have been called "a properly postmodernist band." Per Wikipedia, Fear of Music is their third studio album, released on August 3, 1979, by Sire Records. It was recorded at locations in New York City during April and May 1979 and was produced by Brian Eno and Talking Heads. The album reached number 21 on the Billboard 200. It spawned the singles "Life During Wartime", "I Zimbra", and "Cities". Fear of Music received favorable reviews from critics. Praise centered on its unconventional rhythms and frontman David Byrne's lyrical performances. The album is often considered one of Talking Heads' best releases and has been featured in several publications' lists of the best albums of all time. The album up for bid is an August, 1979 release on the Sire record label, marketed by WB Records and manufactured at Capitol Record's Jacksonville pressing facility. It consists of 11 tracks with run time of 40+ minutes. The cover is VG condition. There is mild wear along the edges and corners. There are no split seams, bent corners or tears. There is a mild hint of disc wear on the front and back covers of this textured album. The paper inner sleeve is original, but it has split seams on three sides. I have taken the liberty to enclose the recording in a poly vinyl, anti-static sleeve for extra protection from dust accumalation. The original sleeve will be included on shipment and it contains a photo of the "mystery man" on one side and track listings with lyrics and production information on the other side (see photos). The recording has been cleaned, tested and recorded using Audacity. All tracks are free of skips. There is mild background noise consisting of random "clicks" that do not interfere with the music and are most notable in the quiet spaces between tracks. The record surfaces are free of scratches or scuffs and show only very mild signs of wear. The sound is strong and clear. The recording would rate VG/VG+ applying the Goldmine standards for record grading. I always clean, listen and test every record I list on EBAY.
