He was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Dayton in 1976 with concentrations in painting and printmaking. As a senior he won the University’s highest award for representational art.After college Peter’s career in graphic arts spanned 19 years, 14 of which were spent operating his own in-home business, The Graphics Plant.From 2001 to 2018 he was an elementary art teacher, and a part-time artist. Since his retirement, Peter has created art full time. He is an avid painter, both of works en plein air and in the studio. His work takes creative approaches to depicting traditional landscapes.His art includes paintings, colored pencil art, watercolor, and mixed media artwork.Plant has exhibited his work extensively in the Central Maryland area, both alone and in groups.His art is included in collections as far away as Idaho and Boston.
