Description: Star Trek USS Enterprise Model Special Edition Lights Sounds AMT 1991 Complete Many years ago, I purchased this model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701A with special lights and sound effects for my brother, as we were both fans of the series. However, life being what it is, he never got the opportunity to assemble it and it was stored away in a closet with other things until his untimely passing a few months ago. While visiting his wife, she asked me to help her sell off a number of things he'd collected over the years to help her with bills. You're bidding on a COMPLETE model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701A. This version includes special light and sound effects including flashing lights and the sounds of phasers and photon torpedoes. Description:During this time, those in control of producing models for the Star Trek series seemed to think that releasing another model of the U.S.S. Enterprise with every movie released would be a good thing...and for the most part, it was. However, there's only so many times you can release the same model of the same starship and get interest from the fans. Following Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, where the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701A was introduced at the end of the film, there were several versions released. The one for Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home featured a Delta V base upon which the USS Enterprise-A would sit. It measured 22" in length. Then came the one for Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. It was stated to also be 22" in length, but it was featured with a new shuttlecraft as part of the display (for that special Plan B...for barricade). Otherwise, it was the same model. For Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, they kept the shuttlecraft as a feature and changed the display base a little, but basically the same model. Then there was the Special Edition #6957 with Lights and Sound Effects. Unlike the three versions from Star Trek IV, V, and VI, the Special Edition version is designed to be lit using special electronics which are included in this model set, as well as sound effects, which are also included in the set. The base for this model is also different from previous models of the USS Enterprise, allowing for space to fit the appropriate electronics for the lighting and sound effects in the base, as well as to allow for the (4) AA batteries required to power the light and sound effects. Images have been provided of the box, as well as the contents inside the box including all plastic molded parts, which are still sealed in the original plastic wrap. The electronics for the sound and lights remains wrapped in bubble-wrap and have not been taken out. The instructions for assembly are included and are intact, as are the decals which can be applied to the model once it has been assembled and painted. Amazingly enough, despite their age, the decals appear to be fine, with only a minor yellowing on the edges of the page. No damage, cracks or other issues were seen in a visual inspection of the contents. The model appears ready to assemble and be lit and readied for sound. Shipping for this model will be via US Ground Advantage to keep costs down. Extra bubble-wrap will be inserted into the box to give the parts extra padding to avoid shifting around during shipping. Good Luck!
