The T183 features a 42mm forged carbon case with a stainless steel core and screw down casebook and crown. The construction of this case is very interesting as it features a stainless steel "insert" or core that houses the movement and crown tube. The stainless steel casebook screw into the stainless steel core so that water resistance is ensured and it's not interfacing two different materials. The core also allows the movement to be isolated from the case, thereby increasing shock resistance. The case's material is formed by impregnating high tensile carbon fiber with epoxy resin and then precisely milling it to shape the piece. The result is not only a case that is lightweight, nearly unscratchable, and stronger than titanium but visually stunning with a unique swirling pattern. The dial and bezel insert are made of the same material, completing the look. Bright pops of yellow-orange are featured on the minute hand, Squale logo at 6 o'clock, and edge of the strap. A date window is featured at 3 o'clock. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal with excellent AR coating. The bezel is 120-click unidirectional rotating with a coin edge grip. The watch features an insanely robust 600 meters of water resistance. The 20mm strap is unused as I wore it on a NATO and is made of "rubberized leather" that is waterproof. The feel reminds me of wetsuit material. This example, thanks to its case materials, has no scratches, dents, scuffs or other surface imperfections. The crystal remains blemish-free and as stated the strap is unworn. You're basically getting the same factory fresh watch for less! All features and functions work as they should and the elabore-grade Sellita SW200 movement keeps accurate time. The crown has a slight quirk where when your are pushing it back into the case after setting the time, you need to apply a slight amount of downward pressure while pushing in to engage the movement. It doesn't affect the watch's function in the slightest but just a note. Included are the watch, box, hangtag, instruction manual, and warranty card. The watch was purchased brand new from Long Island Watch in November of 2023 and as such maintains 1 more year of its original 2-year warranty.
