Soviet Russian Medal Order of the Red Star 1972 Cold War Guards Tank Army

Description: Soviet Russian USSR Order of the Red Star with serial number in the 3.7 million range awarded in 1972 to a Lieutenant-Colonel in the artillery of the 6th Guards Tank Army. The award is presumed to be for military & political training. The awardee served in WWII and received a number of other medals, including the Medal for Victory over Germany, Irreproachable Service medals, anniversary medals, and – most interestingly – a Medal for the Development of Virgin Lands. Condition is outstanding, as seen in the images! The serial number of the award is authentic and matches the serial number shown in the archival documents, obviously!
