Description: For sale is a vinyl record by Rudolph Serkin, on piano, along with Eugene Ormandy conducting The Philadelphia Orchestra titled "Schumann Piano Concerto and Strauss Burlesque in D Minor", originally released in 1956 by Columbia Masterworks Records. This original pressing has grey and black labels, with "COLUMBIA" in white at the top, along with six black CBS logos, looking like "Eyes", three on each side of the center hole on the outside of the label's rim, commonly called "6-Eye" Columbia labels. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put the album into an archival inner sleeve. I always put my new records directly into a protective inner sleeve(s), thus preserving the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. Inside the dead wax, between the last tracks and the labels is etched the matrix numbers 2-H/1-AB, followed by a five-pointed star (*), indicating that earlier stampers were used to make this record at Columbia Records' pressing plant, located in Hollywood, California. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for theit superior sound qualities. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any surface scratches, sleeve marks, scuffs, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. The cover is graded as Excellent because of small stress cracks along the spine and minor corner blunts. The spine has damage to the corners, resulting in a little color los, along with small tears from the stress cracks. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection. I have other Classical albums, as well as records of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
