Description: THIS AWARD WAS MADE IN 2000 WHEN IT WAS CERTIFIED "TRIPLE PLATINUM" by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). A VERY LIMITED # WERE MADE BY MY FATHER ON MUSIC ROW IN NASHVILLE - WHO WAS THE PREMIER GOLD/PLATINUM AWARDS MAKER IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY FOR 50+ YEARS. HE MADE A QUANTITY ORDERED BY THE LABEL TO BE SENT TO DJ'S, RADIO EXEC'S AND OTHER VIP'S BUT HE ALWAYS MADE ABOUT 20% OR MORE IN OVERPRODUCTION BECAUSE THE LABELS WOULD ALWAYS ASK FOR EXTRA COPIES YEARS LATER. When he passed at age 91 in 2016, I inherited all of his estate which included thousands of awards which were in inventory dating back to the 50's and 60's and up through the early 2000's. NEITHER THIS ROLLING STONES AWARD NOR ANY OF HIS INVENTORY WERE EVER MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC until I began offering them on eBay. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE ROLLING STONE JUST RELEASED A MULTI-DISC SET ON FRIDAY, JUNE 15TH, TO COMMEMORATE THIS MILESTONE ALBUM: STICKY FINGERS - FROM THE VAULT - LIVE FROM THE FONDA THEATRE. IT IS SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE. THIS AWARD HAS AN ACTUAL REAL ZIPPER PULL AFFIXED TO THE DISCOGRAPHY PLATE AND THE STONES' "RED LIPS" ARE SET VERY HIGH ON THE ALBUM COVER FOR A SLICK 3-D EFFECT. SEE PHOTOS. BACKGROUND FABRIC IS DENIM TO COMPLEMENT THE ALBUM'S "BLUE JEAN" THEME. AN EXCEPTIONAL AWARD DESIGN.NARRATIVE: Sticky Fingers was the first album release in the 70’s decade by the Stones. After a lengthy period of off-and-on recording sessions stretching from March of 1969 through November of 1970, the long-awaited album was finally released in April, 1971 to rave reviews. The album cover caused much attention with the unknown crotch theme. Some countries refused to accept it and insisted it be changed; thus, the fingers protruding from the grease can as an alternative cover. Sticky Fingers is the ninth British and eleventh American album recorded by the Rolling Stones and the first album NOT to have any contribution whatsoever from guitarist and founder Brian Jones. It was also the first album crediting Mick Jagger on guitar. It was certified in 2000 as a Triple-Platinum with 3-million verified units sold in the U.S. by RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). Though millions more have been sold worldwide. Finally, it is notable that Sticky Fingers is the first album to carry the newly formed “ROLLING STONES” record label after having been contracted with DECCA Records since 1963.
