Description: Featured is a rare collectible vintage Saturday, March 7, 1959 dinner menu from the m.v. "Straat Banka" of the Royal Interocean Lines. The front shows a reef and two fish in vivid color. I have one other menu available with the same front illustration dated Monday, March 2, 1959. Royal Interocean Lines was originally founded in 1902 as Java-China-Japan Line for the routes in the Far East. After WWII it merged with another company and became Koninklijke Java-China-Paketvaart-Lijnen (KJCPL), later becoming Royal Interocean Lines. It became one of the world's largest and most powerful shipping companies. The menu measures 9” x 11” closed and 11” x 18” open. It is in good condition, with some toning and wear on the edges.
