It seems to glow and is so alive in a naked dead winter landscape. It is really in its element as a beacon in the snow or lit up by a porch light on a winter night and glowing fire engine red against the cold black beyond. It is just a real experience. One I am grasping for by the end of January! I must say also that as nice as the winter bark color is it is just a beautiful encore after the "suck air" fall colors. One of the best if not the best of the yellow gold displays. Like all colored bark selections it looks best in good sun. Perhaps 8' tall in ten years- smaller in containers.
