From Fashion Designer Benedetto Pannino, Vintage 1960s Haute Couture Heavy Triple Gold Plated Runway Statement Necklace with Egyptian Revival Hieroglyphic Geometric Links. The Necklace has a wearable length of about 20". It has a Push-Lock Closure with the Original Safety Chain. The Necklace is in Excellent Condition with no issues. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. It is marked on the backside of the Closure with 'Panetta' as pictured. Any white spots are glare. About the Designer: Benedetto Panetta was born in Italy and moved to the US in the early 1900s where he began working for small jewelry companies. Then he moved to Trifari before opening his own company around 1945. He called his company simply 'Panetta'. He wanted his jewelry to look 'real' so his company used only the finest materials and made almost everything by hand. He said that "if the jewelry didn't look 'real', it went back to the drawing board." Panetta also made copies of jewelry produced by famous designers such as Cartier, Tiffany, Van Cleef and Arpels, and David Webb. His jewelry became travel jewelry for the very wealthy. His jewelry looked so real that women would leave their fine jewelry at home to prevent theft. Panetta Jewelry can be hard to find and shows up in the Open Market very Seldom. After Benedetto's death, his company was run by his two sons until it was sold to a Japanese Company.
