Description: Henri Matisse par Florent Fels, with four color pochoirs by Matisse. Revue XXe siecle . N 3. Editions des "Chroniques du jour", Paris, 1929. Numbered 232 of 500 numbered copies. With four color pochoirs by Matisse: Odalisque au tambour (1926) - Harmonie jaune (1927)- Le buffet (1928)- Nu (1921), and numerous illustrations in black and white, in full page. bound in hard cover binding, with the original paper cover preserved. Minor wear to back cover as shown in photo and some UV damage to spine paper. Inside is immaculate. Custom clamshell hard case wrapped in dark emerald cloth with stamped leather spine label. Several have come up for auction in the past 10 years. Several of the individual pochoir prints from this book have sold as well, implying the number of the original 500 copies have been lost and thus gets rarer still. Given the price of this item, I encourage questions about the item before purchasing. Item was found in the stock of a used bookstore I purchased in October 2023. Believe it or not, tjis was found in the overstock area. Shipping via insured priority mail is included and will likely require a signature. As there is some space in the clamshell, padding will be added both within and around the custom box.
