Description: DATING TO THE 1890’S FASHIONED OF A WHITE SILK SATIN AND IS TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION. THE BODICE IS LINED IN COTTON WITH BONED FRENCH SEAMS AND AN UNLABELED PETERSHAM. THE BODICE IS SHARPLY POINTED IN THE FRONT AND CLOSES WITH POLISHED SHELL BUTTONS UP THE CENTER FRONT WITH THE ENTIRE NECKLINE IN AN EMBROIDERED NET LACE WITH SCALLOPING FOLLOWING THE LEAF PATTERN ON THE EDGES. THE SLEEVES ARE LONG WITH A LARGE BELL OF THE EMBROIDERED NET LACE ON THE BOTTOM. CENTER REAR TAIL IS SHARPLY POINTED WITH LARGE BILLOWING BALLOON BUSTLE OFF OF EACH SIDE OF THE POINT WITH THE INTERIOR BALLOON BUSTLING LINED IN STIFF BUCKRAM WITH A COTTON TAPE RUNNING ACROSS TO HOLD IT IN ITS SHAPE. THE SKIRTING HAS A LARGE BILLOWING APRON OF FOLDS THAT IS PLEATED AT THE TOP, BACKED IN BUCKRAM TO GIVE IT FULL STANCE WITH A LONG OVER SKIRT THAT FALLS LOOSELY DOWN, AGAIN BACKED IN BUCKRAM AND IS PLEATED ON EACH SIDE WITH THE BOTTOM FRONT IN DENSE BOX PLEATING FULLY AROUND THE EDGE WITH THE INNER HEM LINED IN ORGANDY AND LACE THAT PEEKS OUT ALL ALONG THE HEM. THE BOX PLEATING IS PINCHED IN PUCKERS THROUGHOUT, ALL ALONG SIDES AND TRAIN WITH THE ROWS OF LACE PEEKING OUT ALL ALONG THE EDGE. INTERIOR SKIRT IS LINED IN BUCKRAM AND COTTON WITH ADJUSTABLE TIES ON THE INNER REAR. A SINGLE HOOK AND EYE CLOSES. CONDITION: THE CONDITION OF THIS PIECE IS NEARLY PERFECT, THEY DO NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS. ONE BUTTON HAS COME OFF BUT IS PRESENT ON THE FRONT. THERE IS VERY LIGHT MILD SCUFFING FROM STORAGE SEEN ON THE SHOULDERS AND OUTER SLEEVE, VERY FAINT LIGHT SOOT MARKS. A THUMBPRINT LIGHT YELLOW STAIN IS ON THE HIGH FRONT CENTER SKIRTING WITH SCUFF MARKS ON THE PLEATS OF THE SIDE THAT WERE AGAIN FROM STORAGE AND THE LACE OF THE BOTTOM EDGE HEM HAS MINOR AGE COLOR WITH THREE INCHES OF LACE NEEDING TO BE STITCHED BACK.
