Description: Oregon artist Minnie Wonsmos oil on Masonite board, image measures 11 1/2" X 16". Overall good condition. Mid Century Modern period. Askart: Minnie Wonsmos was born in Nebraska in 1901-1974. By 1925 Minnie was the wife of Bertel Wonsmos, a landscape painter. The couple first lived in Nebraska and by 1930 they were in Spicer, Minnesota. Later, Mrs. Wonsmos had an art gallery in Seaside, Oregon where she displayed her art as well as that of other local artists. She is known to have made painting trips to the desert in southern California. She died in Spokane, WA in 1974.Image depicted is a Cascades Mountain range now covered mountain, possibly her interpretation of Mt Hood.
