Description: Description Gibson / J-45 Standard VS (Vintage Sunburst) [2.15kg/2024 model] [S/N:21934112] J-45 Standard Latest Current Model The J-45 is a round shoulder acoustic guitar that was born in 1942 as a successor to the J-35. This model has been loved by many musicians and guitarists to this day, and is nicknamed "The Workhorse". It was named this because it was sold for $45 at the time. The original J-45 reigned as the representative of round shoulders for 28 years after its birth. However, in 1970, it underwent a transformation and was transformed into a square shoulder and long scale. Production ended in 1982, but it was revived in 1984 with the long-awaited "round shoulder and 24-3/4 inch scale". The new model "J-45 Standard" was born in 2009, and this is the latest model. Made in Montana, USA. The body is all solid wood, with Sitka spruce on the top and mahogany on the sides and back. It features a flat teardrop pickguard and a one-ring rosette with 3-ply binding. It is equipped with the L.R. Baggs Element VTC, which allows volume/tone control on the side of the sound hole edge. The edge of the fingerboard is also rounded, which allows for smooth fingering. It features Mother of Pearl inlays, a Graph Tech nut, and Grover Rotomatic pegs with a gear ratio of 14:1. The glue-bonded dovetail neck joint and nitrocellulose lacquer finish (gloss) are familiar. The L.R. Baggs Element VTC provides a more balanced sound, which will come in handy at live performances. The loud body sound from the scalloped X bracing is still there! The low and midrange sounds are unique to the J-45!
