ZUNI TURQUOISE / CORAL CAST SILVER RING 31.1 GMS VINTAGE 1950'S TUCSON ESTATE

Description: From a Catalina Foothills estate in Tucson some years ago is this aesthetically pleasing vintage Zuni Pueblo cast ingot silver ring with green turquoise and red coral set in plain bezels - stamped silver drops balancing things nicely. The uncommonly bold I believe 1950's or so finger ornament comes with oodles of mid century visual charisma along with that massive almost signet style presence. There is a strong chisel scribed marking which is not familiar to me. It appears to be "IS", assuming I've turned it the right way. Weight is good for the form at about 31.1 grams on my portable digital scale - that's basically a full Troy ounce. Condition is quite fine with an aura of time to the surfaces. Be aware I have avoided every urge to refresh away or "improve" upon any natural toning - you want that done you do it.. The cast ingot metal, the patinated turquoise, and that lovely red coral have all achieved the requisite “look". There are some tight, worn over lines in the coral, I’ll mention here just so you won’t. All typical and expected signs of period wearing simply validate the history. A look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. Ring size is about 12 1/2 on my jeweler's ring mandrel (the lower edge of the shank reaches that line on the mandrel with a small bit of room still showing). About 1 in. vertical at the front - and yes this beauty will definitely be noticed.
