It is sized to fit all thick printings issued from 1934 to 1941. The same Russell H. Tandy dustjacket artwork was used from 1934 to 1950. [The dustjacket is printed on one side only -- no title listings on verso (reverse side).]. Collector's Tip: Artwork: The same Russell Tandy jacket artwork was used on all printings from 1934 thru 1950. Original Text (OT): All books originally paired with this jacket had the original text of 219 pages written by Mildred Wirt. The original text books typically had 25 chapters. Illustrations: All Nancy Drew books printed up thru 1936 originally came with 4 glossy illustrations. Books printed after 1936 thru 1942 had only one glossy illustration. The master is then carefully restored to remove any minor imperfections. This significantly enhances the eye appeal rather than just offering a color photocopy with flaws. Great care is taken to painstakingly retouch these images with emphasis on maintaining the full scope of the original artwork and preserving the texture and granularity of the original. The dustjacket is then printed on an industrial quality machine which far exceeds the image quality possible on any inkjet printer, and produces sharper, crisper images and much better color definition (tone, hue & saturation) with pleasing results. About Formats:: The original Nancy Drew series comprised 38 volumes issued in dustjackets from 1930 to 1961. In 1962, beginning with volume #39, the books were issued in picture cover editions [no dustjackets]. There are a few format changes which are useful to collectors in identifying Nancy Drew printings: Binding color: Blue (1-7) 1930-32; Blue w/ Orange Silhouette (1-23) 1932-46 White Spine Dustjackets (1-18): 1930-41; White Spine Dustjackets w/ Silhouette (1-22): 1941-45 About Author: Carolyn Keene was a pseudonym used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate for the Nancy Drew and the Dana Girls series. The early Nancy Drew books were actually written by journalist Mildred Wirt. Wirt wrote the first 7 Nancy Drew titles, plus additional titles from vol. 11 to 25 and vol.30.
