The set includes three different 7 line cars: The Bluebird, the Redbird and the current 7 line car!The R33WF Bluebirds were purchased for the 1964 New York World's Fiar and only used on the Flushing Line. The bluebirds were blue intil the mid-1970's when they were painted white in an early deterrent to graffiti. Bluebirds were painted red to become Redbirds in the mid 1980's. Only four restored R33WF's exist: three are with the NY Transit Museum with two in their original painted scheme and one as a Redbird; and one is in the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine.Redbirds are named for the deep red color they were painted. The deep red colored paint was chosen to combat Graffiti. The final trip made by a Redbird train was on November 3, 2003 on the Flushing Line. Rebirds now have either been sunk off the coast of Delware, Georgia, New Jerseym South Carolina, and Virgina as artifical reefs to promotion marine life and some still operate in the system repurposed as garbage trains or rider cars for work trains.The 7 Flushing Local and Flushing Expressare two rapid transit services in the A Division of the New York City Subway, providing local and express services along the full length of the IRT Flushing Line.
