Description: Vintage Montgomery Wards & Co. 30 day Drop Octagon Wall Clocck. With 1/2. Hr strike and hourly Chimes. Pedulum has Stop works and up and down indicators explained belong. Pretty unique clock with some.pretty neat stuff on it.. clock was oil looked ovrr the movement shines like new condition. This clock runs very well.. has 2 hammer chime setup., thw Dial appears flawless and crisp clean. The clock isnpreowned and subject to blemishes associated with normal use. And ready to ship out immediately.. All you Clock Fanatics out there ask some of your other Cloxk friends. Iff they know what " Stopworks and Up & Down indicators are. Be a good quiz for them. Not many recall or seen these features on any cloxks. I only know of 3 manufacturers ever installed similiar on clocks to date. Its a pretty nice wall clock. Check photos out it does have 2 i think small blemishes of stain fade maybe 1 in max id guess on the surface of the finish. Around 10-11 o clock area above the door... Someone who plays in stain much can touch thwm up in 15 minutes to perfectiin there not even that bad. The internals on the clock appearance wise prob hasnt been used very much or long by no means. Clock comes with pendulum ,and key included ******Interesting Features of This Clock Stopworks allow use of the most uniform part of the mainsprings range. They limit how far you can wind the mainspring, and how far it can run down. I set these so when the clock is fully wound, the mainsprings are unwound 1/2 turn from fully wound. This prevents the oil from being squeezed from between the coils. Relatively few clocks have stopworks. Some of the earlier Gilbert kitchen clocks do, as well as some Seth Thomas clocks. Precision clocks often have stopworks. An up and down indicator shows how far run down a clock or watch is. Some antique pocket watches and a few self-winding wrist watches have this feature. In this clock, the indicators are small round openings beside the winding squares, with a three color shutter behind them. They show blue when the clock is fully wound, the same color as the dial from slightly unwound until nearly run down, and show red when the clock needs winding. Ref 729
