The Style of this Ring, use of an Opal (his birthstone), and the Copyright © Mark inside the band leads me to believe that this may have been made in the 1940s.Ring is in Good Preowned, Vintage Condition. My husband distinctly remembers his grandfather wearing this ring. This is a Vintage Ring so you can expect Dings and Scratches on the metal surfaces; with some noticeable scratches on the shank as shown in the photos. Setting Wear is commiserated with age and use. The Opal Stone itself looks to be in Very Nice condition. I looked at it under a light and did not see any apparent Chips, Cracks or Dings across the top of the stone, however, there looks like there could be a rough edge on one side where it is mounted. The stone feels secure in its setting. The Oval Cabochon Stone, based on the color change and bits of sparkle in the stone, I believe it to be an Opal. I took photos under a Flashlight as well as under Natural Light to show the Depth & Fire of the stone. Please understand I am not a jewelry expert so please make your own determination of both the type of stone and age of ring by the photos provided. There is a Sizing Band that looks like it may be removable, but I’m not 100% sure that can be done without damage to the ring.
