Description: 1860s stereoview photo of the Oriental Bank in Melbourne, Australia. Photographer is A. Morris & Co. out of Melbourne. The Oriental Bank was located at the southwest corner of Queen Street and Flinders Lane in Melbourne. It was built in 1856 when in the twenty year old city, the Greek temple themed design was the product of a competition held by the bank among Melbourne’s leading architects. The bank itself went out of business in 1884, and the building was demolished shortly afterwards. * CONDITION: Very Good++ * SIZE: Measures approximately 3 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches.
