Malia Hawaiian Dress PEARL HARBOR SURVIVORS ASSOCIATION IDENTITY APPAREL Sz 12

Description: This rare and hard to find item is a beautiful vintage Hawaiian dress by Malia Intl for Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. Per usual Malia standards, it is exceptionally well-made, and the custom designed fabric is of wonderful quality. Features: *Pearl Harbor Survivor motif printed through out. *100% cotton *sleeveless *nylon back zipper enclosure This is listed as a size 12 on the tag, but please take a look at measurements. For reference, my dress form is approximately a size 6-8. Approximate measurements in inches and lying flat: Under arm under arm: 19” Length from shoulder to bottom of hem: 55.5” to 56” *there is an approximate 1.25 inch hem, but the pressed edge of the hem is lighter in color and would probably show if let out in length. Condition: There are no tears or repairs detected. Seams appear to be intact, but please be aware they could be somewhat weakened due to age. Nylon zipper is in good working order. There is possible variation in color due to age. Weave variation exists due to the textured nature of this fabric. Whoever owned this dress took excellent care of it. My understanding is that this vintage and historic dress could only be purchased by a Pearl Harbor survivor. Malia, a well-known producer of authentic Hawaiian clothing, partnered with the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association to make a limited clothing line of shirts and dresses for its members. Though the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association no longer exists, this lovely dress is a historic link to those that survived the horrific attack on December 7, 1941. It’s rare to find piece of history that connects us to the women who served in WWII, particularly Pearl Harbor, and this dress is a unique example of that connection. I wish I knew the name of its original owner and could have thanked her for her service to our country. Please see photos for details. Actual colors may vary from photos.
