Description: Up for offer are two rare and desirable inscribed/signed copies of The Universe and Dr. Einstein by Lincoln Barnett, with a forward by Albert Einstein, published in 1948 by William Sloane Associates. These books are signed by the author Lincoln Barnett and not by Albert Einstein. Copy #1 (photos 2-15) is in very nice condition with the original dust jacket. Dust jacket has some light wear at edges as photographed. Minor wear to edges of boards. Warmly inscribed by author Lincoln Barnett on the front endpaper to a recipient "who was the first fan for this book - with all the best from Lincoln Barnett, Westport, N. Y., May 31st, 1949". Book has light tanning to interior. Bright pages and tight binding. Appears to have only been lightly read (if it was ever read at all). Copy #2 (photos 16-end) is in acceptable but worn condition with no dust jacket. Bumping and moderate wear to edges of boards and tips of spine. Partial split to binding at half-title page but binding otherwise tight. Age tanning to pages. Inscribed by author Lincoln Barnett on the front endpaper to a recipient "with all the best from Lincoln Barnett, Westport, N. Y., May 31st, 1949". Please feel free to make an offer!
