Description: LORCH SCHMIDT& CO GMBH PRECISION INSTRUMENT/CLOCK MAKERS LATHE TYPE LLVThis 1958 German Lorch LLV Precision Lathe (serial number 25973) was designed for instrument, optical, horological, and electronics work. It has a 65mm (2.56 inches) center height with a swing of 130mm (5.12 inches). It is 225 mm (8.85 inches) between centers. The spindle is hardened, ground, and finish lapped. It runs in tapered, adjustable bronze bearings. The spindle thread is20 mm. The spindle bore is 10mm (0.39 of an inch). The maximum collet through capacity is 6mm with a non-through capacity of 8mm. Both the spindle and the tail stock take a #1Morris taper as well as Lorch 10mm collets. Power is provided by a variable speed half horse motor (110volts 60 cycles). Speeds are infinitely variable, driven through a countershaft assembly. The slowest speed is 240 rpm. The top speed is 6,000 rpm. The head stock pillar holds the speed adjustment knob. The on/off switch, and the reset button are located on the electronics unit. The original Georgii-Kobold motor is included. Serial number 642560. Type KSD 122. 220/380 volts 50 Hz2820 RPMs The standard saddle and cross slide allow the cutting tool to be moved 90mm (3.54 inches) longitudinally and 80mm (3.15 inches) in transverse. The second saddle is a two-way lever action production saddle and Cross Slide, with stops, allows the mounted tool or fixture to be moved 55mm (2.16 inches) and 66 mm(2.56 inches) respectively.
