Description: Lionel Post War #202 Alco A-B Diesel Locomotives & complete 5 unit freight train set __________________________________________________This is a used Lionel Post War #202 Alco A-B Diesel Locomotives & complete 5 unit O / 027 freight train set. It is a complete train set and is in excellent condition, however, I do not have a set box. This set is made up of 4 postwar aqnd 1 modern era components. Included in this sale are the following: 1 - Lionel #202 Union Pacific Alco A powered diesel locomotive, with a powerful single wound AC Pullmor motor, working headlight and lens, decorative horn and a 3 position e unit that allows it to run in forward and reverse directions controlled from the transformer. The 202 was built in 1957. 1 - Lionel Union Pacific B diesel unit with a collector to power the electronic diesel horn circuit board and speaker that are mounted inside. 1 - Lionel #9311 Union Pacific 8 wheel operating dump car with a partial bag of Lionel coal. 1 - Lionel #2460 Reading Lines 8 wheel Bucyrus Erie operating crane car. The 2460 was built from 1946 to 1950. 1 - Lionel #16569 Illuminated Union Pacific 8 wheel SP style caboose. This caboose was built in May of 1996 1 - Lionel #1033, 90 watt transformer with a speed control, a direction / whistle (horn) control, a 110 volt power cord and a 2 conductor track power cable with a Lionel CTC track power connector for connection to the track. The 1033 was built from 1948 to 1956. 8 - Lionel O gauge curved track sections.5 - Lionel O gauge straight track sections. 1 - Lionel O gauge remote control track section with a 2 button control for uncouple and unload. 1 - Lionel # 160 dump bin to catch the logs being unloaded. 1 - Standard operating instruction booklet. 1 - Track polishing pad. I completely assembled the set and tested everything. All parts of the train are in very good condition and it operates perfectly, especially since the components are from about 40 to almost 80 years old, the locomotives have both been professionally refinished, and are an excellent example of what can be done with older models. The dump car and crane car are both in excellent operating condition. with some minor playwear. The crane car has had warning stripes added to the front and rear and the "Reading" was apparently carefully hand lettered on both sides over the "Lionel" ( please see photo # 15), it is not perfect, but, I wish I could hand letter that nicely. The caboose is illuminated, and is the only modern era component in this set. There may be light rust on some of the metal parts, but nothing that interferes with the operation of the train. The tracks are the heavier O gauge, and vary in condition from fair to excellent, some of them have light rust and tarnish. I lightly cleaned them, made sure each track has 3 pins and the train runs great on these tracks. I included a track polishing pad to help maintain the good operation of the train. The remote control track section has a button for "unload" and "uncouple", but the dump car in this set has the type of release that needs the uncouple control to activate. so the uncouple does both uncouple and unload. The labeled unload button activates the fourth and fifth rails that operate on many of the postwar operating cars that use flying shoes to power the unload mechanisms. This track has been rewired and both controls operate properly if you should have any of the older operating cars that require that function. The transformer case has been repaired and painted, but it has a new rectifier disk and it operates perfectly. I do not have any boxes or manuals for this train, the standard operating instruction booklet I am including is simply basic tips and suggestions for operation. Overall, this is a great train set and would be a great addition to any collection, or is ready to set up and play with. Shipping charge will be the actual cost to your zip code.
