Linemar Marx Miniature Vehicles - Original Boxes Concrete Mixer + Dump Truck

Description: Here is one of several lots of Louis Marx and Company "Elegant Miniatures" diecast toy vehicles that I will be listing today. These were made by Marx in their Japanese factory and released under their Linemar trade name. They were meant to compete with Matchbox cars. Each came packaged separately in a little box (just like Matchbox), and the artwork on the boxes in many cases was far better than what was inside! But they apparently did this for a good while, as there are many different vehicles, wild animals, dinosaurs, dogs, and other things in the line! This lot consists of just a couple of loose empty boxes. They are technically NOT from the Elegant Miniatures line, but from a line called "Miniature Vehicles". Since Marx was often his own competition in the toy market, many of his overseas operations would put toys out for Linemar, then also issue very similar to identical items under some other, or even NO, manufacturer name. These boxes are very likely from that type of situation. Not even sure if the contents for these would have been metal or plastic vehicles, as I have seen both marketed in tiny boxes like these. You get boxes for: Concrete TruckDump Truck These are both in really nice, practically new and complete condition, even though there are no vehicles with them. My gut instinct is that the cars were taken out of the boxes, the boxes placed somewhere and then prompty forgotten for decades, maybe longer. The photos show these boxes from all 6 sides, with a yardstick in the shots for size reference.
