Description: Limoges J.P.L. Triangle Shaped Hand Painted Demitasse Cup And Saucer. Unique and unusual J.P.L. Limoges triangle shaped demitasse cup and saucer. On a white ground delicately hand painted with a floral spray including a lovely pink rose and other colorful flowers with green leaves and vines. Purple lilacs and green leaves grace the inside of the cup. Gold gilt trims the rims of the cup and saucer and the handle, as well as the foot of the cup and saucer. I think this is quite a find. Marked on the reverse of each piece J.P.L.( Jean Pouyat Limoges ) , this mark was used from1876-1890 ,and in red Brooklyn Ovingtons Chicago. Displays beautifully. Good antique condition to commensurate with age and use. There is one small chip at the inside rim of the cup, a small round shaped dimple under the glaze on the cup, and a small rough spot on the saucer , see 3 photos before measurements. There is minor rubbing of the gilt paint on a few spots on the rim of the saucer . No other chips, no cracks. All measurements are approximate: Saucer measures 4 3/4" long on all 3 sides x 1" tall.Cup measures 2 1/4" long on all 3 sides x 2 1/4" tall.
