A Triplet of Same Cane Antique German Handmade 'Divided Latticino Core' Marbles. Description: This collectible matched triplet of handmade German latticino marbles dates from 1880-1920. They have a simple but lovely structure with three green jelly bands suspended over a HTF delicate split-style or segmented lattice, which is divided into three even panels in a balanced and pleasing form. 'Same-cane' examples such as these are much harder to find, especially when they come in threes as opposed to a pair - having been made from the same cane of glass; by the same craftsmen in the same glass factory of 19th.c Germany, then remaining together over many years as these have. Along with the fantastic potential for display from these symmetrical pieces, this adds an extra element of intriguing marble technology and history. These sizeable pieces have great presence and weight in the hand, and make beautiful showcase items to star in a collection. Type: Antique marbles in the Latticino class are very popular and widely collected - intricate by design and much loved because of their charming colours and structure - a clear glass matrix with a decorative surround, encompassing the central lattice core. The core colour relates to desirability and eye appeal, as white is the most common, followed by yellow then orange, with other colours being considered unusual or rare. They are one of the fundamental types produced by makers working in the 19th c German glass factories, and come in a delightful range of styles and colour combinations.
