Core is steel, so this tamper has a very nice weight to it, not like other aluminium tampers on the market. The entire body is made of food safe Alu with thick chrome on the surface. Has a nice weight feeling and great quality of the plating. The product is compatible with La Pavoni Europiccola and Professional Pre-Mill models - OLD GEN GROUP HEADS (coffee machines manufactured before year 2000 - that have 50 mm diameter group head and 49mm baskets) or Olympia Cremina. Since it has the Pro diameter of 49.5 mm, the tamping will cover more surface of the coffee puck and so will offer a much better and nice extraction and flow of coffee. The base is detachable from the handle. This 49.5mm tamper is designed to ensure a tight fit in the IMS competition baskets but not only.
