The Kaffir Lime Tree is a unique lime that will bear good crops of small, intensely fragrant, bumpy fruit that is also used in Asian cooking. It is prized for very spicy leaves that are used to flavor curries and other dishes. The kaffir lime tree is well suited to container growing. The fruit is rough, bumpy green with very fragrant leaves. Even a small scratch of the lime releases a roomful of refreshing fragrance like a fragrant bouquet of citrus blossoms. For the most part, citrus trees grown from seed will not be true to form and can take up to 15 years to fruit. My grafted trees are of fruiting age. This plant is hardy in zones 9 and 10. Now for those who do not live in zones 9 or 10 you'll want to grow this as a container tree. I will lift your tree out of it's growing container and remove the loose soil to save on shipping costs. I then bag the rootball to keep in the moisture. These are really very nice sized trees Plants will be pruned back to 2-3 feet tall in order to keep shipping rates lower.
