One-on-One's score edged out NES' Double Dribble score of a "B", and the reviewer claimed it was the best basketball game on the market. Later that year Nintendo released a One-on-One with Michael Jordan. The Atari 7800 version features Larry Bird and Dr. J, and the infamous shattering backboard sequence. One-on-One has several nice gameplay options to lengthen replay value, although one has to wonder why the game opens with Larry Bird missing a free throw.
