Tiktiner was founded in 1949 by Dina Tiktiner Viterbo in Nice, France. J. Tiktiner became known for high style favored by European jet setters that vacationed along France’s Côte D’Azur. The fashion term Le Smoking can be attributed to Yves Saint Laurent’s 1966 collection of evening tuxedo looks for women. YSL’s androgynous evening tuxedos became a cultural sensation when photographer Helmut Newton popularized the collection. Other leading fashion designers were quick to pick up on the trend. This unique piece by J. Tiktiner in hot pink satin with a quilted black full lining features the original bold diamanté front button and smaller versions on the cuffs. This cropped evening tuxedo jacket represents a bit of 1970s fashion history. It has been kept in climate controlled storage. In very good condition with no fade or stain marks.
